To make the transition to Eclipse 3.3 easier, the standalone AcmeStudio environment has been released as M1. There are builds for Eclipse 3.2 and 3.3. As mentioned earlier, the nightlies are following the 3.3 track, so if you wish to follow the nightlies you should download the standalone version of AcmeStudio complied against eclipse 3.3.0.
What's New in 3.2.0:
Acme Groups
- In AcmeStudio 2.2.9, there was a language feature in Acme called groups, that allowed one to group architectural elements. There was no structural implication of groups (unlike representations). This feature has now been ported to AcmeStudio 3.2.0, and also has a new user interface. A Groups tab has been added to the Properties view when a system is selected, which allows you to define groups. Groups by default now have a visual representation that is a dashed box surrounding the elements in a group. The visual depiction can be changed. We are working on improved support for defining group types in the family editor.
Diagram Editor & Family Editor
- Visualizations of elements have been enhanced with:
(1) More shapes
(2) Gradient filling
(3) Visualization variants can now vary anything about an depiction (shape, color, label), rather than being fixed to a certain set of possible changes
(4) Label decorations now support different fonts, colors, and sources
- Ports are now aligned along the edge of the shape, rather than the edge of the rectangle surrounding the shape
